Nazari – Promenade (Digital, 2020)

“Nazari – Promenade” is a musical journey that takes listeners through varied soundscapes, each revealing a different facet of the artist’s creative vision. Released in 2020, the album is inspired by Mussorgsky’s “Pictures at an Exhibition”, and it does indeed feel like a sonic exhibition, a tour de force of auditory art.

The album comprises six pieces, each one unique yet seamlessly flowing into the next. The opening track, “The Awakening”, is a powerful exploration of femininity and the cycles of the moon. It’s reflective and introspective, setting the tone for the rest of the album.

“Dandelion” transports listeners to a medieval atmosphere, where daily life intertwines with magic and mystery. The track beautifully captures the essence of this time, creating a vivid picture of a world where wishes were elusive and the ordinary was often extraordinary.

“Slowly” and “Pájaros” mark Nazari’s first vocal productions, adding another layer to the album. “Pájaros”, in particular, stands out for its exploration of the symbolism of flight as a spiritual experience. The track is a testament to Nazari’s ability to evoke deep emotions through her music.

“360” is a relationship between Saturn and the Moon, a link between the limits of creation. It’s a contemplative piece that encourages listeners to reflect on their own boundaries and potential.

The album concludes with “Me Rebelo”, Nazari’s first work from around 2012. It’s a bold declaration of rebellion against injustice and convention, encapsulating the spirit of the entire album.
