Brad Tennant’s 2020 release “Nervous” is a compelling exploration of lo-fi bedroom pop, with each of the 16 tracks offering a unique sonic journey. With a range from instrumental beats to hip hop to synthpop, Tennant creates a soundscape bound to make any listener tap their foot.

“Nervous” opens with “Take You With Me,” a track that immediately sets the album’s tone with its contemplative melodies and intricate beats, tinged with a slight glitch that adds an interesting layer of complexity. It’s an inviting introduction that piques listeners’ curiosity for what’s to come.

“When I Was Young” continues the journey with a nostalgic vibe, blending seamlessly into “Really Tried,” a track that showcases Tennant’s talent for crafting engaging beats and melodic hooks. The fourth track, “Celebration,” lives up to its name with an upbeat rhythm that’s bound to get your head nodding.

“Drawn Curtains” and “Not At Home” offer a slight shift in mood, the latter brings some glitchy game tones, while “Hope That’s Okay” and “Out of Time” present a masterful blend of lo-fi and hip hop elements.
